Choir
Southridge Middle School offers a choir taught by Mrs. Dvorak-Torres. Choir is a year-long elective class dedicated to singing. The purpose of choir is to learn the fundamentals of music and apply them through performance. During the year, the students focus on the California Music Content Standards, which include:
- Reading and writing musical notation and solfege
- Listening, analyzing, and describing music
- Applying musical skills through performance in concerts
- Understanding the role of music in the past and present cultures throughout the world
