School Site Council (SSC)
The School Site Council (SSC) is a decision-making body that represents all members of the school community, including the Principal, Teachers, other school personnel, parents and students. School Site Council members are elected by their peers or colleagues. School Site Councils operate under the direction and with the approval of the Fontana Unified School District Board of Education. The School Site Council has several important functions:
- To examine schoolwide data in critical areas, such as student achievement, attendance, discipline and family involvement.
- To identify goals in those areas, for improvement and growth, and to assist in developing a formal plan of action through the Single Plan for Student Achievement (SPSA), which is also known as the "School Plan."
- To oversee the categorical budget and to allocate resources/funds for programs and services that are based on measurable improvement goals.
- To monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of programs and services, and make adjustments to the SPSA, as necessary.
- To communicate and exchange information with the FUSD District Advisory Council (DAC).
